Comparing bids and hiring
Open any of your postings from My Jobs to see its live bid table: each bidder’s quote, cover message, attachments, rating, review history and win count.
Judging more than the price
- Look at the contractor’s rating and reviews — profiles with a track record are your best signal.
- Read the bid message and info package. Serious bidders attach proposals, schedules and references.
- Check off requirements as each bidder meets them — an award is blocked while any are unmet.
Hiring
Accepting a bid does four things at once: the chosen contractor is hired, the other bids are closed out, contact details unlock between you and the winner, and the full bid table is revealed to the participants — open and fair. A private message thread also opens automatically so you can plan the work (see Messaging).
After the work
Mark the job complete and leave a 1–5 star review (you can attach photos of the finished work). The contractor can rate you back as a client — reviews are mutual on QuoteHive. Your contact details are only ever shared at the point of hire, in line with Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA).
