How to post a project
Last updated July 1, 2026
Posting is free, always — for any client, any budget. From Post a job you describe the work once and verified contractors come to you with quotes.
What the form asks for
- Title — a short summary of the work.
- Category — one of ~50 trades (choose “Other” for anything unusual).
- Province and city — the city list follows the province you pick.
- Budget band — from “Under $1,000” to “$500,000+” (or “Not sure yet”). This sets what contractors pay to bid, and budgets of $100K+ switch the job to a formal tender schedule.
- Description — the detail. Specific scope gets accurate prices.
- Attachments — up to 5 files (photos, specs, drawings). At least one document is required, and jobs with good documents get noticeably better quotes.
- Requirements — optional conditions bidders must meet; see Setting requirements.
- Bidding window — 7, 14, 21 or 30 days for standard jobs (14 is the default). Formal tenders use a 10/15/20-day schedule instead.
What happens next
The moment you post, every verified contractor matching your trade and province is notified. Bids arrive with the contractor’s quote, message, attachments, rating and win history. You track everything from My Jobs, and when the deadline nears you compare and hire — see Comparing bids and hiring.
