QuoteHive ("the Platform", "we") operates an online introduction service connecting persons seeking construction, renovation and trade services ("Clients") with independent contractors ("Contractors"). QuoteHive is not a contractor, broker of record, or party to any agreement for work formed between users. We do not supervise, direct or control any work, and we make no warranty as to the quality, safety, legality or completion of any work.
You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activity on your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, post fraudulent jobs or bids, or attempt to circumvent the Platform.
Contractors must submit proof of liability insurance or trade licensing before bidding. Verification reflects only that a document was reviewed at the time of submission; it is not an endorsement, a guarantee of current coverage, or a substitute for the Client's own diligence. Clients should independently confirm credentials before contracting.
Contractors purchase prepaid credits to place bids. Credit costs per bid vary with the posted job budget and are displayed before each bid. Credits are non-refundable and expire six (6) months after purchase. If we remove a job for breaching these terms while its bidding is open, credits spent bidding on that job will be returned. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers. Prices are in Canadian dollars and exclusive of applicable taxes (GST/HST) unless stated.
Clients must post genuine, lawful projects and own (or be authorized to commission work on) the relevant property. Bids are binding offers to perform the described scope at the quoted price, open to the Client's acceptance until the bidding deadline passes. Each job accepts bids from any verified contractor until its bidding deadline; larger projects ($100,000+) run on a formal tender schedule with a Bid of Intent window, as shown on each job. Once a bid is accepted, contact details are exchanged and the parties contract directly.
We charge no commission on the value of work contracted between users. Soliciting or accepting platform-introduced work while deliberately avoiding the bid process ("off-platform circumvention") may result in account termination.
Clients may review Contractors after a hire. Reviews must be honest, lawful, and based on genuine experience. We may remove content that is defamatory, discriminatory, or unrelated to the work.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, QuoteHive's total liability to any user for any claim arising out of the Platform is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts paid by that user to QuoteHive in the six months preceding the claim and (b) $100 CAD. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any dispute, defect, delay, damage or injury arising from work performed by users.
You agree to indemnify QuoteHive against claims arising from your use of the Platform, your job postings, bids, reviews, or any work you perform or commission.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
