Setting requirements bidders must meet
Last updated July 1, 2026
Requirements let you attach real conditions to a job — and QuoteHive enforces them: a contractor with any unmet requirement cannot be hired, no matter how good their bid looks.
What you can require
- Sign an NDA before receiving sensitive details.
- Attend a mandatory site walkthrough.
- Provide a cover letter describing relevant experience.
- Up to 5 custom requirement lines in your own words (e.g. “WSIB clearance certificate dated this year”).
How enforcement works
- Each requirement becomes a tracked checklist item for every bidder on the job.
- As contractors satisfy a condition (they sign the NDA, attend the walkthrough…), you tick it off for that contractor on the job page.
- The hire button refuses an award while that contractor has an unchecked requirement — the system tells you exactly what’s missing.
This mirrors formal procurement practice: conditions are enforceable, not advisory. It’s especially useful on larger tenders where walkthroughs and NDAs are standard.
