Keeping your credentials current (expiry reminders & the bidding pause)
Last updated July 2, 2026
Some verified documents have an expiry date — your liability insurance, WSIB / workers’ compensation clearance, and any dated trade licence. QuoteHive tracks those dates so an expired credential never sits silently on a contractor who’s bidding for work.
We remind you before anything expires
As an expiry date approaches we email you and add an in-app notification at 60 days, 30 days, 7 days, and on the day it expires. Each reminder links straight to your verification page so you can upload the renewed copy in a couple of taps. Re-upload early and the reminders stop.
What happens if it expires
- Your account is not suspended — you can still log in, browse the board, message existing hires and manage your profile.
- Bidding is paused. Until you upload a current copy you can’t submit a Bid of Intent or a final bid, and a red “Bidding paused” banner on your verification page names the expired document.
- Existing bids and awarded jobs are unaffected — this only stops you starting new bids.
How to lift the pause
- Open your verification page and upload the renewed document for the expired type.
- This clears the old expiry and puts that document back in front of our team for a quick re-review (typically within one business day).
- Once it’s validated with the new date, bidding resumes automatically — no need to contact us.
Tip: renew a week or two before the date on your certificate. As long as a current copy is on file there’s never any interruption.
