Two-factor authentication, passkeys and sessions

QuoteHive requires strong authentication before the actions that matter: you must have two-factor authentication (or a passkey) enabled before you can post a job or place a bid.

Authenticator app (TOTP)

Enable it under Account → Security. Scan the QR code with any authenticator app (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Aegis…) and confirm the 6-digit code. You’ll also receive one-time backup codes — store them somewhere safe; each works once if you lose your phone.

Passkeys

Passkeys let you sign in with your device’s fingerprint, face or PIN — no code to type, and phishing-resistant. Add one under Account → Security → Passkeys. A passkey also satisfies the strong-auth requirement for posting and bidding.

Sessions and devices

  • Account → Security lists your active sessions — every browser and app signed in to your account.
  • Revoke any single session remotely, or use log out of all devices to invalidate everything at once.
  • Signed in on the mobile apps? Those sessions appear in the same list and can be revoked from the web.

Passwords

Minimum 8 characters, stored only as a salted hash. Change yours under Account → Security; forgot it? Use password reset and we’ll email you a link. If you’re locked out of 2FA and out of backup codes, contact support for an identity-checked reset.
